dear babel which has not been named. forgive an old man for rambling. static exchange values are two sides of the same coin.
“Debt seeks to preempt the future, to make of it an impregnable variation of the present, unperturbed by the threat that the future might be otherwise. The securing of this world is accomplished not by military action and walls alone but by instruments of indebtedness that seek to reshape space, time and selves, through proliferating borders of a more intimate kind. The risk that the future might be different from the present is, with debt, transformed into a question of the measurable… Through debt, everyone can aspire to be a property owner, at the very least by looking upon one’s self as an asset.” from here. feel free to replace ‘property owner’ with ‘culture owner’.
if we name recession, everything breaks (but if we name things they become food). notice the binaries here? retreat back into file structure (where am i on this tree?). there are mirrors here instead of walls and the torque of the mirror means we can’t see out. remember one’s self is an asset, not an handicap. but don’t grasp at exchange or non-exchange or whatever other mirage you see shimmer when you try and look through the bubble surrounding your retina (did i say yours? i meant to say ours). in south korea scientists clone dead pets for wealthy americans. that level of static takes misplaced stamina. and did i mention the boat is sinking, everybody needs to row.
by way of dead pets:

where i am now is muggy. tropical can mean something physical. cicadas crackling underneath. before i was where i am some nice people gave me some muggy music.
seb tells me ‘mooi oema’ is dutch-crole patois meaning ‘beautiful woman’. beautiful women deserve big vocals and busy drops.
